Monroe County

Monroe County is named in honor of president James Monroe and is located in the east of the state, along the Neew Jersey border.  The population was 174,579 at the 2009 United States Estimate. That is an increase of 26,371 and 19%. Its county seat is Stroudsburg. According to Wikipedia, Monroe county is one of the fastest growing counties in the State of Pennsylvania. Not only has the population increased by nearly 20 percent, but the commercial retail has grown a lot as well. There are many new shopping centers and even more are planned and are currently being planned at this time.
